Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission. However, there are exceptions that I am required by law to report and will do so in the following areas:

• • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse – I will report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
• • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s – I will report this to the police and the intended victim immediately.
• • If a client intends to harm him or herself – I will seek your cooperation in ensuring your safety. If you refuse to cooperate, I will take measures necessary that are provided to me by law in order to ensure your safety.
